beach to work on your tan without the crowds.
At the far end of the beach, where the mouth of the Santa Clara River empties into the Pacific, you'll find a natural bird estuary teaming with Pelicans, Egrets, and other species.
Personally, this is my favorite beach for its natural sand dunes and “away from it all” appeal. It’s my pick for a long run or quiet walk.
I love the way the beach landscape changes almost daily
from the constant battle between the tide and river current at the
mouth of the Santa Clara so I come back often.
Note: Dogs are not
allowed in the natural bird estuary area.
Getting There: From North U.S. 101, exit Victoria Ave. Turn left off the freeway and right at Olivas Park Drive and follow into Ventura Harbor Village, which will put you onto Spinnaker Dr.
The beach is 1st parking lot on
the left. From the South U.S. 101, exit Victoria, turn right. Turn
right at Olivas Park Drive and follow directions above.
