Robert Kennedy's 1968 Presidential big -- campaign rally at Buenaventura Mall

June 1968 -- Does anyone remember when Robert Kennedy and his wife, Ethel, and their dog, Freckles, stopped at the Buenaventura Mall to speak to a crowd that had gathered there?

I worked at the RFK campaign headquarters in Ventura when he was running in the California primary election and was there that day. I was lucky enough to get copies of some snapshots taken that day -- just a few days before he won the democratic primary election, and then tragically shot.

My memory of shaking RFK hand in Ventura
by: Arleen

Yes I was there too. I was a little girl at the time, and my Father took me to see him. I vividly rmember my Dad picking me up by the car and liftling me up to be able to shake his hand. AND I DID! what a monumental memory... I still can remember his smile :)
