The
colorful display and tantalizing smell of fruits and
veggies inside one of Ventura’s farm fresh produce stands practically
begs you to take juicy bites right there on the spot.

Thank goodness, gone are the days when our mothers had to force us to
eat our veggies! Visit these local produce stands or Farmer’s Markets
around Ventura County and make her proud.
Did you know?...Strawberries with higher sugar content ripen faster. The sweeter berries are usually spared for local produce stands and Farmer’s Markets.
Ever wonder what all those produce labels mean?

Produce Stands
in Heritage Valley
Along Hwy 126
From Santa Paula and Piru
You
really can’t go wrong produce-stand-hopping along Hwy 126. This is
fruit stand heaven where fruits, vegetables, nuts, eggs, honey, plants
and even pottery are for sale. The stands are easy to spot,
just keep a
look out between the seemingly endless rows of scenic citrus and nut
orchards.
One of our favorite is Fransisco's.
Heading east on 126, it's the 2nd fruit stand after Fillmore
on your right.
Romantic
tip...Well worth the day-trip. Pack a picnic or have lunch in
charming Santa Paula or Fillmore. Visit the oil museum in Santa Paula
or the historic Fillmore train station.
