Discovery / Ventura - Grand Opening Event

Discovery is excited to announce it’s much anticipated Grand Opening celebration on Jan. 22 – 26. The week is stacked with events at the 70 year old venue which Discovery Ventura Grand Openingrecently underwent a multi-million dollar restoration located at 1888 E. Thompson Blvd. in Midtown Ventura, formerly home to Poinsettia Bowl and Ventura Bowling Center.

The week-long grand opening festivities will kick-off today with the ribbon cutting ceremony at 5pm, followed by an open house reception with complimentary hors d'oeuvres, prizes and giveaways, and a silent auction benefiting local non-profit organization, FOOD Share. The week’s events will include dueling pianos, a local band showcase, DJ entertainment, and more.

Discovery opened with a "soft launch" in mid December and has quickly become a new and exciting destination. With décor that is made with repurposed wood from the original building built in the 1940s, the venue features 9 lanes of bowling – one of which even has its own beer tap – a full service dining program and restaurant offering California cuisine made from locally-sourced ingredients, and a socially designed, horseshoe bar pouring hand-crafted cocktails.

Beyond the traditional bowling alley, Discovery also offers live entertainment, private party and banquet spaces, billiards, shuffleboard, comfortable lounge seating, original local artwork, and a heated patio.
