About Us

Ever feel like you need to get away from it all,
just for a few days or even a few hours?

Then we have something in common!

While we enjoy our day jobs (Michael is a manufacturer’s sales rep and I, Angela, am in human resources), we’re just happier people when we get outdoors, explore new places and meet new friends, both as a couple and as a family of four.

Like many blended families (or traditional ones for that matter), finding things we all like to do together has its challenges. At any given time, Michael Christopher (15) would rather play video games; and Tamara (11) gets bored quickly. Yet, we manage to share many fun times together – like camping at Rincon Beach , sea cave kayaking or just wolfing down dessert at the Busy Bee Café .

Having been dragged to Ventura kicking and screaming from L.A. when I was 14 (and vowing to never forgive my parents for ruining my life), I’ve grown to love this seaside town!

Over two decades later, Michael & I explore Ventura together like out-of-town tourists (by now we’re used to the puzzled look on the hotel clerk’s face when they ask “where ya from?” and we answer “down the street”).

But hey, now we know the best places to stay , eat and play , as well as how to get the best value for your dollar. Not just through our own experiences, but by sharing stories with others.

Early in 2009, we decided to put all this “research” to good use and started Fun-in-Ventura.com. FiV aims to be your best resource for vacationing or staycationing here in Ventura.

FiV has also become a way for us to give back to our community by promoting worthy causes and the historical preservation of Ventura.
