Wow, what can I say? One of our favorite restaurants in town. My wife and I have been coming here for over ten years and are never disappointed. Great selection of excellent traditional French brasserie fare as well as a nice selection of American dishes. They have a cozy bar where we typically grab a drink or nice glass of wine before dinner. Chef Didier always stops by to catch up.
My go-to dishes are the onion soup to start (perfect year round but especially nice on a cool fall or winter evening) followed by the horseradish crusted sea bass (unbelievably good!) and finish with the floating islands or profiteroles. When we aren’t as hungry they have a nice assortment of small plates and salads (love “Nanci’s Salad”), and wonderful deserts when we just want to be bad!
Chef Didier has brought a little bit of France to Ventura. Whether you are in town for a day or are a resident you need to try 71 Palm.
